Jessica Chastain could have some serious shoes to fill.
Word on the street is that the “Zero Dark Thirty” actress will take on the “True Detective” lead role in season 2. Nerdist snagged an exclusive, citing sources who claim Chastain “has been offered a leading role,” but “has yet to accept.”
Don’t get too excited, though. E! News has reportedly confirmed that Chastain won’t accept the role.
“While the thought of Chastain on ‘True Detective’ is exciting, reps for Chastain told E! News that the actress is not doing the series,” the network said in a post.
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson captivated audiences as detectives Rust Cohle and Marty Hart in the eight-episode first season of the HBO smash hit earlier this year.
Chastain has a lot on her plate for this year and next. According to IMDB, the 37-year-old actress holds a rumored role in “Mission: Impossible 5” and the lead as Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik’s “Blonde.”
