After almost an entire summer of speculation, the folks at Bravo have revealed some details about the upcoming Boston-based season of “Top Chef.”

The first bit of juicy new info is that there will be one local culinarian competing in the 12th season: 33-year-old Regal Beagle executive chef Stacy Cogswell. Originally from Wareham, Cogswell trained at Johnson & Wales and now lives blocks from her Coolidge Corner restaurant, according to a Boston Globe exclusive.

It wasn’t just the media who was kept out of the loop when it came to “Top Chef” secrets — Cogswell couldn’t even tell her family. Cogswell told “most of her family that she was traveling in Europe during the local shoot,” and that her boyfriend and brother were the only ones who knew the truth.
