If you live on the Green line, and your friend lives on the Red line, where should you meet up for drinks? How can you get to the closest Tavern in the Square? Are there any bars near the Maverick T stop?
The bar-hopping app UNight can answer all these questions for you.
UNight has just released “The MBTA Bar Map,” which alphabetically lists 350 bars in Boston and their closest T station.
The free app tells its users which of their friends are going out on a given night, and where they’re all heading. It aims to replace the “where you at?” texts that you send to your friends on a Friday night, UNight writes in its App Store description.
UNight employee Nate Tepper (whose favorite bar is Coogan’s, near the Aquarium stop on the Blue Line, if you’re wondering), says the app has been operating in the city for less than a month. It currently has over 800 Boston-area users.
While the app has a feature that shows you the bars closest to you, the T Stop map is only available in PDF form at this time.
