Taste of the Nation Boston Raises $125,000 for Kids in Need

Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation Boston charity event drew a crowd of 800 to the Cruiseport on April 29, in turn raising $125,000 to help feed needy children.

The proceeds from the chef-studded event benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign which aims to end childhood hunger in America. According to a statement from No Kid Hungry, up to 1.25 million healthy meals will be created from the funds raised. Local organizations like Cooking Matters Massachusetts and Project Bread benefitted from the event.

General admission tickets ($95) and VIP tickets ($130) earned visitors a chance to sample food and drink from over 60 restaurants, food trucks, and bars. Attendees also had a chance to mingle with the likes of local high-profile chefs Joanne Chang, Jody Adams, Tony Maws, and Gordon Hamersley. Outside of libations, guests were invited to partake in a silent auction.
