Nobel Peace Prize winner Alva Myrdal, the Swedish disarmament campaigner, and her husband Gunnar, also a Nobel Prize laureate, yesterday were presented with the $10,000 Nehru Award for International Understanding during a ceremony at the Indian Embassy in Stockholm. The prize is awarded annually for outstanding contributions to the promotion of international understanding, goodwill and friendship among the peoples of the world, the embassy said in a statement.
