Hopefully by now you’ve been to one of The Boston’s Parks Summer Fitness Series classes. But if you haven’t, now’s your chance. The city is introducing even more classes to its awesome free fitness program this month.

Launched in June, the Summer Fitness Series is a series of free exercise classes taught by prominent Boston instructors at parks throughout the city. New to the program this month are the Commuter Boot Camp, provided by Boston Sports Club Tuesday evenings at Back Bay Fens, and a Core Fusion class, provided by Exhale Spa Tuesday evenings at John Harvard Mall. Other classes range from yoga at Frog Pond, salsa dancing at Blackstone Park, and Tai Chi at Franklin Park.

Pretty sweet deal, huh? Your fellow Bostonians would say so.

Nearly 3,500 individuals participated in the classes this June, according to the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC). At Franklin Park’s Wednesday night line dancing class, 50 to 100 Bostonians come out to dance each week.

To celebrate the program’s success and the introduction of new classes, the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) and the Parks department are hosting a re-launch event at Copley Square on Monday, August 4, from 5:30—7:00 p.m. The event will feature free boot camp and zumba classes and giveaways.
