Why the change?
We decided that it was time to make Boston.com easier, fresher, and more useful than ever before. Over our 12-year history as a website, we’ve always sought the best ideas for how Boston.com should look, feel, and function. You’ll be able to see these ideas in action on the site today and in the coming weeks. We’re always happy to hear from our users, so if you have questions or comments about the new site, feel free to send us a note.

Some areas of the site have the new look, but others don’t. What’s going on?
Different features and sections of the site are scheduled to debut on different days. While we realize that this might be confusing in the short-term, we’ve studied our options carefully and believe that the gradual switch we have planned will ultimately result in a better user experience.

What’s new on Boston.com?
In addition to some changes you might have noticed already, such as the wider width of some pages on the site and a cleaner look, the redesigned Boston.com includes the following:
  • A brand new home page
The redesigned home page is less cluttered and easier to read. It includes all of the news, sports, and information available on the old page, but in a different style that we think you’ll appreciate. If you’re having trouble finding one of your favorite features on the home page, please let us know so we can help out.

  • Enhanced site navigation
Today’s Globe and Local Search have been added to our primary navigation bar, so you can access these popular features with one click from any page on Boston.com. You can also use the navigation bar to scan the Classifieds with ease.

  • Things to Do
Things to Do is a comprehensive local resource for browsing event listings in and around greater Boston. You can also use this section to look up restaurant information and sign up for mobile alerts.

  • Lifestyle
The Lifestyle section includes news and information on Fashion, Food, Weddings, and more.

  • Boston.com Cars and Real Estate
Our new Cars and Real Estate sections allow you to easily find the car of your dreams - and a nice place to park it!
