Doctor's can't mock their patients in shorthand anymore
Posted by Jason Butlerat 8:48 AM
The BBC reports on how the (occasionally offensive) shorthand doctors use to describe their patients may be losing favor.
Top medical acronyms:We software types have our own shorthand we use to describe system difficulties. I, of course, would never characterize a bug report as PEBCAK.
CTD - Circling the Drain (A patient expected to die soon)
GLM - Good looking Mum
GPO - Good for Parts Only
TEETH - Tried Everything Else, Try Homeopathy
UBI - Unexplained Beer Injury
