Miles Templeman said that bad language in the office was usually a mistake. 'One should have good manners all the time, and while we wouldn't want to over-react, swearing, particularly with subordinates, would be very bad,' he told The Observer.

'Obviously there are moments when a person is extremely stressed and swears to let off steam, and people probably shouldn't worry very much about that, but even that shouldn't be too frequent.'
