John Harvard’s Brew House in Framingham houses a restaurant and pub, left, and a brewery, to the right, on the same premises. The original John Harvard’s Brew House was founded in 1992 in Harvard Square. The Framingham pub was founded in 1996. The award-winning group, which now numbers eight locations in five northeastern states, is part of the growing industry of craft brewing, small brew pub and regional microbrewers as opposed to large national commercial brewers. Recently, we spent the day with Maria Poulinas, Head Brewer at the Framingham brewery, to learn about her job and the art and science of brewing beer.
