If you are a good teacher and determined, and you have prepared for the profession in all the best ways, you will find a job, although you may have to search beyond the Boston area, some local specialists say. Some fields have greater shortages than others. Demand remains high for math and science teachers, especially those in physics and chemistry, and in special education and ESL (English as a second language). As more school districts expand early childhood education, teacher needs and salaries should grow in this field also.
