Lauren Downes, MSPT, who was a competitive junior level figure skater when she was a teenager, now works with young skaters like 13-year-old Natalie Liu doing off-ice training at the Champions Skating Center in Cromwell, Conn.

Her off-ice programs incorporate exercises focusing on core stability, lower- and upper-body strengthening, plyometrics, and balance.
