Advanced practice nurse, Deborah Clark, CS, NP, works in the Acute Psychiatry Service (APS) department at Massachusetts General Hospital five days a week, Monday through Friday, where she triages, evaluates, and provides treatment for patients who present with serious psychological and psychiatric conditions.

Some patients receive treatment in the emergency room. Others are referred to the urgent care clinic once they are deemed safe to leave. A large part of her job is helping patients bridge the gap between crisis and ongoing care.
