Wequassett Resort and Golf Club’s employees may not be staying in the $2,800 Round Cove Suite, with its two fireplaces and jacuzzi, but they do get a fair share of amenities at a former motel used for employee housing during the tourist season.

For $130 a week, workers at the Chatham resort get free wireless Internet access, free cable TV, and free washers and dryers. A free bus shuttles them the few miles back and forth to work at the four-diamond resort, where they eat for free three times a day, seven days a week.

The employee cafeteria, called the Back Bay Cafe, has a big window looking out onto the bay and serves steamed mussels and clams and plenty of other dishes from the resort’s restaurants. Not a bad way to spend a lunch hour.
