Kate Middleton Upskirt Photographer to Donate Profits to Charity

The amateur paparazzi (née travel agent) who snapped and then sold the bare butt photograph of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, during her down under tour announced that she will donate proceeds from the pic to charity.

A Blue Mountains travel agent named Diane Morel told Sydney’s The Daily Telegraph that she “almost deleted” the money shot, saying, “It wasn’t until I got home, and I popped my camera card into the computer, that I realized what I had captured.” What she captured was the former Kate Middleton’s Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress in midair, exposing her bare bottom, during an April stop in Australia. The dress’s flouncey hemline caught a gust of wind from a nearby helicopter, and naturally the paper cites “royal watchers” who think the duchess should “follow the Queen’s lead, and have weights sewn into her hems.”

The photo was published by a German tabloid earlier this week as part of what appears to be a roundup of other bottoms, which is — pretty insulting and alarming. According to the Daily Beast, the headline read, “Khloe, Kim and Kate—butts which have moved us these past few days.”

Morel said she will donate the money from the sale from the photo to the Blue Mountains Mayoral Bushfire Relief Fund. Kate and her husband, Prince William, were visiting the area on the day the photo was taken to speak with victims of the 2013 bushfires, so it seems sort of fitting, we suppose.

What would have been a better option? Maybe not selling the photo at all.
