The open date for Uniqlo’s Faneuil Hall pop-up just got pushed a bit further into summer. Citing building difficulties, the Japanese mega retailer will be temporarily stalling their proposed Boston takeover, moving their downtown pop-up open date from June 27 to July 22.
Uniqlo will still work with the Red Sox Foundation to host a series of events to benefit the Scholars program and plans to host 250 of the students for a “back-to-school shopping spree” when the doors finally open.
The Faneuil pop-up, when it does open, will be in the former home of Kingfish Hall in the South Market building.
The casualwear chain, owned by Fast Retailing Co., announced in May their plans to open six permanent Boston area locations — including a permanent Quincy Market space — by Spring 2015.
We’ve reached out to Uniqlo for further comment and will update when available.
