Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, made what is rumored to be her final solo appearance before her first child is born in July. She cut the rope to release the bottle of champagne to officially name Princess Cruises' “Royal Princess” cruise ship in Southampton, England on June 13. She was deemed the ship’s “godmother" and was given a tour before its maiden voyage Sunday.

The duchess wore a black and white animal print coat and joined pop singer Natasha Bedingfield to celebrate the ship’s ceremony.

Glasgow-born artist Paul Emsley met with Britain's Prince William and his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, at the National Portrait Gallery’s unveiling of the portrait. According to the AP, Prince William deemed the portrait, “absolutely beautiful,” while Catherine called it. “just amazing.”

The palace announced on Dec. 3 that the Duke and Duchess are expecting their first child. According to the statement, as told by ABC News, “As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.”
