Knot your average tie

Email|Print| Text size + By June Wulff
Globe Staff / January 22, 2008

A tie by Michael Murphy is not just another tie. The Washington state artist travels to China to pick out silk for his hand-dyed, hand-painted beauties. But luckily you only have to go to A Z Fine Arts in Wellesley to buy one ($70-$80). While you're shopping at Peter Ziegelman's arts and crafts gallery, look for Victoria Varga's sterling silver cufflinks ($99 and up, 10 percent off during sale). You're on your own for the shirt, though. The gallery, which represents more than 60 artists from around the world, is having a sale through Feb. 14. Valentine's Day anyone? Today's hours 10 a.m.-6 p.m. A Z Fine Arts, 339 Washington St., Route 16, Wellesley Hills.
