If you have shopped for an item on Amazon.com, then you're familiar with the feature that lets fellow shoppers write their own product reviews. A few years ago writer Jake Swearingen decided to have a little fun with the feature, writing product appraisals that were obviously disingenuous, slightly edgy, and totally brilliant. Amazon caught wise to his antics and pulled his reviews from the site. Fortunately, Swearingen salvaged the best of them and gave them their own blog, which shines a spotlight on the weird breadth of the real items available on Amazon. Highlights include Swearingen's take on the Intimo Men's Classic Satin Robe, Men's Skechers "Cool Cat" shoes, and John Gibson's "The War on Christmas: How the Liberal Plot to Ban the Sacred Christian Holiday Is Worse Than You Thought." Says the review: "Arbor Day killed my younger brother, so I definitely can understand wanting to destroy a holiday." Buycurious.blogspot.com
