Rub-a-dub dog

Trying to wash my greyhound in a tub with walls shorter than his legs is about as effective as burying his heartworm pill in kibble. Enter the Sandy Paw, a self-service dog wash and boutique in Winthrop filled with natural goodies and three tiled tubs that stand waist-high to a human - no more stooping over our knee-high tub. There's a tiled staircase to guide dogs into the basin and a harness to prevent doggy defection. For $15, you get an apron; unlimited use of the tub and hose spray; your choice of doggy shampoos, combs, towels; and the right to walk away from all that hair in the tub. I can't guarantee the dogs will cherish their Sandy Paw experiences - Bo-Bo certainly didn't (he's pictured below with my husband) - but we humans are looking forward to our next rub-a-dub date.
