We were enjoying dinner at Baxter’s in Hyannis and were seated next to a large, friendly-looking group. One of the women got up to take a photo, and I offered to snap the picture so she could be in it. As I was fitting all of them into the camera’s viewfinder, I saw a shocking sight: Everyone in the group was wearing New York Yankees shirts and hats or Philadelphia Phillies shirts and hats. I immediately put the camera down and said in a serious voice: “I’m sorry, but I just can’t take a picture. I am a Red Sox fan and this would be most hypocritical!” They actually believed me, until I started laughing. Then they, too, joined in the laughter, and I proceeded to take a couple of what I hope were good photos of these very friendly visitors.
