My 10-year-old son was in full Red Sox attire as we waited in line to board the Statue of Liberty ferry last August. It was Red Sox vs. Yankees weekend, and we were in enemy territory. Following some good-natured ribbing from the ticket agent, we made our way to the crowded security checkpoint when an official voice came over the intercom: “Attention, please. If you are a Boston fan, you will be swimming to the statue today!” (For the record, we were allowed to board the ferry.)
