I was at the ophthalmologist with my 9-year-old son as he was struggling to read even the third line of the chart on the other end of the room. It was clear he needed glasses for nearsightedness. When the doctor slipped a pair of glasses on his face, Ari’s whole face lit up. He proceeded to read every line on the chart and exclaimed, “Mom! Life in HD!”

All Bite, No Bark
I adopted a cat a few months ago from the MSPCA. I’ve adopted animals before and know that they need a lot of love and patience, as they have often been bounced around a bit before being placed. But this cat, a de-clawed male around 7 or 8, has a bad habit – he bites. I have no doubt that we will get though this in time. But a few weeks ago, in utter frustration after a near miss to my forearm, I jumped up at yelled at him, “Bitey Bulger, bad kitty”! I can just see the tiny aviator glasses, the hat pulled low . . .
