At least 1 in every 150 children is diagnosed with autism, a neurological disorder that results in communication and learning difficulties. This disability is more common than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes, and pediatric AIDS combined. April is Autism Awareness month, and "Faces and Voices of Autism" is a good way to bring attention to the disorder. This exhibit will introduce you to Austin, Brooke, Timmy, and 16 other autistic children through photographs and short stories written by a person in the child's life. Today's hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. (through May 3). Mall at Chestnut Hill, 199 Boylston St., Chestnut Hill. 617-965-3037. www.mayinstitute.org
