Hcqcc.hcf.state.ma.us: Free state-sponsored website that mostly lists information about hospitals, but also includes data on how many times surgeons have performed certain operations.

Massmedboard.org: Free profiles of all licensed Massachusetts doctors that include where they went to medical school, if they have special certification, and whether they've been disciplined by the licensing board or a hospital.

MHQP.org: Free quality ratings of physicians' groups and offices (but not individual doctors), including the experiences of tens of thousands of patients.

Angieslist.com: For a monthly or yearly fee, members have access to other members' reviews of their physicians, including A to F grades for punctuality and effectiveness of treatment.

DrScore.com: Consumers rate doctors on a scale of 1 to 10. Free access, but no comments by patients and no guarantee that actual patients are doing the reporting.

HealthGrades.com: Consumers can buy profiles of doctors for $12.95, which include a wide range of information including professional misconduct and education history. May or may not include patient ratings.

RateMDs.com: Consumers rate doctors on a scale of 1 to 5. Free access, but company doesn't verify whether actual patients are posting the ratings.
