The ICA celebrated one year at its waterfront abode Monday with a glamorous fete that drew several hundred urbane partygoers. But the stylish types weren't just mingling in the museum's foyer. The evening featured a fashion show of looks from the Ferragamo Fall/Winter 2007 collection. - CAROL BEGGY

Tell me about your wardrobe choice. I thought a suit would work well at an event like this. It's Oscar de la Renta. It's understated, but with the pinstripes it's not boring. And the bright red paisley tie makes it all festive.
The fashion show kicks off right around kick off time for the Patriots game in Baltimore. Will you be sneaking out to check the score? No. No. No. [Laughs.] I got the old Blackberry right here. That'll keep me in touch with what's going on down there.
You don't doubt Tom Brady and the team do you? Not at all. My prediction is that at the end of the night we'll be 12-0. Without a doubt.

Tell us about your wardrobe tonight. It's a Chloe dress with Yves Saint Laurent shoes.
Did you pick black because you're in Boston, and we've got a reputation for being somewhat staid when it comes to fashion? No, I love black. In Milan we use a lot of black. It's not boring - or doesn't have to be.
Have you done much sightseeing? Not on this trip. But this is my fourth time in six months to Boston. I'm learning to love your city and [the ICA] building is just stunning. What a wonderful post-modernist joy.
What's the best discovery you've made about the city? The MIT Media Lab. We are working with them, so I've come to know them, but the work they do is incredible.

What brings you to this event? Work or fun? My husband works with the people at MIT's Media Lab so it's a bit of a work night. But it's mostly fun.
Speaking of fun, your dress has a bow. Is it fun to wear? Yes, I got it from [Newbury Street clothier] Alan Bilzerian. It's Comme des Garcons. I've had it and decided to wear it tonight. My husband really likes it, so that's an added bonus.
I have to ask you about the necklace. It's by a friend, Rachael Neve, who works at McLean Hospital. So she makes jewelry as her release. It's made with vintage Swarovski crystals. She's been designing for years, and her work - the earrings are hers as well - always get noticed when I go out.
Can you recommend any movie we should see this winter? Yes, "I'm Not There" about Bob Dylan. It was brilliant. Wonderful.

You're pretty formally dressed this evening. Is that something you do often? Just so you can see I'm not telling a lie, I'm going to show you my license. I got my picture taken wearing a black tie tux. (Takes out license and sure enough, there he is in a tux.) My birthday is on Dec. 28, and I thought I should get one more use out of the tux before sending it off to the dry cleaners.
Tell me about tonight's selection. The shoes are Ferragamo. It's an homage to the styles we'll be seeing at the show. The jacket is custom, not really any one designer, just had it made in the style of things I liked about other pieces I owned. The scarf is just my choice.
You're an organizer so give us a tip for getting through the holiday season alive. Forget "to do" lists. Make a schedule, and you'll actually have a plan.![]()
