You oughta be in pictures
After a cursory glance at the guests attending Saturday's Provincetown International Film Festival 10th Anniversary Gala, it became clear that folks interpret the word "gala" in radically different ways when determining wardrobe choices. Rakish John Waters stayed on the dressy side of the word with a sharp blazer, as did actress Jane Lynch. But many of the attendees arrived in shorts, jeans, and other summery - and gender neutral - attire. We sipped a glass of champagne (for liquid confidence) and braved the crowd to find a few of the better dressed cinematic revelers. - CHRISTOPHER MUTHER

Who are you wearing? This is my mother's dress from the 1970s. It's a Lori Till dress. This is a Kimora Lee Baby Phat bag that I got at a Russell Simmons party.
How do you describe your style? Casual, for the most part. When you're older, your body changes and your style changes.
Favorite designers? Roberto Cavalli and Manuel Cuevas.
Is there a character from a film whom you identify with style-wise? Or any who you'd like to identify with? I'd like to identify with Julianne Moore. Faye Dunaway always looks great. I admire women who dress in a more classic fashion, because classic is timeless.

Who are you wearing? I believe that this is Express Men. I got it at a discount bin for something like $3. And I'm wearing cheap white Gap jeans and Rockports.
How do you describe your style? I don't tend to describe my style.
OK, say I forced you to describe it, how would you then describe it? Probably comfortable. I have no idea what to say. Comfortable chic? No, that's terrible. I'm not afraid of a tie. I don't dress up as much as I'd like to. I don't like to feel fat.
Words to live by. Is there a character from any film that you identify with style-wise? I'm also an actor, and I get cast in a lot in period pieces, and I would like to think that Montgomery Clift would be my dream style. I rarely accomplish that, but that would be a good starting point.

Who are you wearing? I just got this dress in New York. In a little boutique. I like yellow, I think I look really good in yellow. It's Pookie and Sebastian. Prada shoes, and the bag is also Prada.
How do you describe your style? Eclectic, but elegantly so.
Do you rein yourself in with your clothing choices because you're well-known? Do I rein myself in? Please! That's why I always end up in trouble.
Is there an actress or film character whom you look up to as a style icon? Angelina Jolie. I love her style. She was at an event wearing a beautiful black velvet dress that she had paid $25 for. I think she's simple, elegant, and sexy.
