What do you do to prep for bathing suit season, and how do you try to conceal flaws?
I try to do a little extra cardio, and if I want a snack in between meals, I eat sugar-free Jell-O. Also, a nice tan covers a lot. -- Jacqueline Bruno, Miss Massachusetts USA 2008
Being comfortable in your own skin and embracing your body for what it is goes miles beyond any work that you could put in. Loving how you look, flaws and all, is part and parcel of being a strong, powerful woman. That said, being a Boston Derby Dame means theres always a lot of scrapes and bruises to flaunt in the summer! -- Eva McCloskey, a.k.a., Evilicious, Boston Derby Dame
Ive shied away from bathing suits that might be in fashion, but dont work for me. Im trying to forget about the tankini thing that happened a few years ago ... Im a one-piece kind of girl, because they help me show off my legs, which are really defined, and help me hide other areas, like my lack-of butt. -- Rebecca Newell, chef, The Beehive
I buy bigger suits and hope to get that flesh-eating disease so that it takes off a bit of my butt and my stomach. -- Lenny Clarke, comedian and actor
"When bathing suit season approaches, I start to prepare myself for the annual hairy leg and armpit debate: Keep the hair? Shave the hair? Wax the hair? Thread it? Dye it pink? Braid it? This year I think I might wax and let it slowly collect back into a jungle until fall, when long pants cover up my extreme laziness. I also plan to get a new little tattoo of something meaningful on my lower back, like, you know, a rapper's name, random Chinese symbol, or nice little weavy Celtic thing." -- Amanda Palmer, singer and performer
I wouldnt be caught dead in a suit that doesnt have some kind of support, a bra or some padding. -- Gretchen Monahan, beauty and fashion entrepreneur and TV personality ![]()
