The pink ribbon is an internationally recognized symbol of breast cancer awareness, and if you're seeing more pink than usual, it's because October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's also the start of the chilly season, so here's a great way to spread the awareness, fill the American Cancer Society coffers, and stay warm. The cotton, limited-edition Tolani Breast Cancer Awareness Scarf comes in white, black, and pink with a pink ribbon and fringed bottom. During October, 50 percent of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. $79. Potpourri Designs, 8 Church St., Wellesley. 781-235-0096. Today's hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Also available at www.pinkmascara.com.
