Opposites Attract
Black-and-white combinations work for men and women.
Mixing black with white is rarely ho-hum. As seen here around town, even simple silhouettes can look quite dramatic. And flattering, too, says designer Eileen Fisher, whose fall collection features minimalist pieces in an assortment of proportions and fabrics. Wearing a black top and bottom is slimming, but throwing on a white cardigan makes you look even thinner, notes Fisher. “It’s implied shape.” For men, a crisp white shirt goes from classic to cool when worn with this season’s skinny black pants and sleek knits. Just think black and white and rad all over.
