How would you describe your style? Not to sound cliché, but classic. Classic styles and colors. . . . The most adventurous I get is with my tie.
Where do you buy your specs? I’ve had the same style of glasses for the last few years - I’ve sort of made them my trademark. I had Versace frames, and now I’m wearing Marc Hunter frames.
And your suits? I’ve been getting all my suits tailored. I work with Paul Miao at Tom James. They fit really well. It’s rare for me to buy suits off the rack, but if I do, I’ll get them at Macy’s or Miltons.
Is it challenging to put a personal spin on business attire? I think it’s how you put everything together. Our profession has gotten more casual over time and some lawyers aren’t in suits every day. . . . I’m always in a suit. Wearing a suit on Monday puts me in the right state of mind for the whole week.
You’re a busy guy - when do you have time to shop? When I shop, it’s a big blowout. I go out and buy a bunch of stuff. If anything, I probably need some weekend clothes. My wife complains about what I wear now: a baseball hat, a cheap T-shirt, and jeans. I’ll lounge around and watch football.
What do you splurge on? Lately, I’m into watches and shoes. I have a Citizen watch from the Eco-Drive series that’s solar-powered. It’s cool. I’ll splurge on a suit. Tailored suits aren’t cheap.![]()
