What’s your earliest fashion memory? I made an entire outfit out of tin foil and wore it to school one day. I was probably 7 or 8. But just growing up with my mother - she has really eclectic taste. Both of my parents are very creative. They just sort of fostered it.
You’re in high school. Are you a fan of dressing up for school or do you stick with sweatpants? I don’t even own a pair of sweatpaints or a sweatshirt. I only wear things I like, and that usually ends up being a little bit different.
Biggest mistake teenagers make when it comes to fashion? There so many pet peeves. I think caring about the label in your clothing [is a mistake]. True fashion is less about where you got your clothing and more about what you do with it. Half the things I wear are things I found in my mother’s closet and they don’t even have a label on it. It’s all in the way you wear it.
What are you reading? In school, I’m reading a book called “Body of Secrets’’ by James Bamford for US History. On my own time, I’m reading “The Elegance of the Hedgehog.’’ I just began it last night. It’s really good, but I’m only a couple of chapters in.
What music are you listening to? I’m very eclectic when it comes to music. I’m listening to Simian Mobile Disco, I love Miike Snow, the Dirty Projectors, The Blow. I’ve also been listening to Lullatone. It’s sort of lullabies for adults.
Fashion faux pas you’d like to forget about? I used to just wear baggy T-shirts or jeans. Just that prepubescent phase where you don’t know what to do with your body and you don’t know what to do with your life - I’d like to forget about that.
Best recent bargain? I got this denim blazer jacket with studs along the shoulders. It’s so cool and very relevant and I got it for $12.
Where did you find it? I got it on ![]()
