The iconic Iris Apfel, 88 - who was once perfectly described as a "geriatric glamazon" - is north of Boston putting final touches on the show "Rare Bird of Fashion: The Irreverent Iris Apfel," which opens at the Peabody Essex Museum on Oct. 17.
