So you don't have time to scurry from tent to tent, nestle in next to editors and celebrities, and take in all of the glamorous, pricey clothing whipped up by a-list designers for New York Fashion Week. But you can still (kinda) participate in the catwalk mania and wiggle your booty in the comfort of your own Boston apartment as if you were at Fashion Week with the help of our NYFW playlist. We've hand-picked a few notable selections from this week's Spring 2012 presentations to make you feel like you're in the center of the action.

Spring 2012 tunes
“Diplo Rhythm” by Diplo at Lacoste

Lacoste let the buttoned-up prep thing fall by the wayside in favor of punchy geometric prints and silhouettes that work off the tennis court as well. Billboard.com reports that the models worked it to Diplo’s jittery Baile Funk beat “Diplo Rhythm.”

“Pumped Up Kicks” by Foster the People at Rebecca Minkoff

This sultry yet peppy chart-climber from the newbie group provided a sonic backdrop for the feminine, textured looks Minkoff sent down the runway, according to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Twitter account.

The MBFW account also noted that the sweet acoustic strum of Lil Wayne's hit "How to Love" was played at the Pamela Rolland show.

"I Don't Smoke" by Matias Aguayo at Tommy Hilfiger

The Globe's fashion writer Chris Muther does have time to do it up big at NYFW, and he said Hilfiger sent his catwalkers out to the jangly thump of Aguayo's addictively catchy ditty.

"Days" by Creep at Monique Lhuillier

The designer put an edgy spin on her perennially pretty, frilly gowns, decking out her signature frocks with paint-splash prints in bold primary colors, while Creep's spindly electro track pumped through the speakers.

And Fashion Week isn't all beanpole models sporting the latest to-die-for looks. Sometimes designers do karaoke. If you really want to catch the style spirit, take a cue from legendary designer Valentino Garavani and bust out some Sinatra. Because, really, who's more stylish than Ol' Blue Eyes?
