Plonkapalooza: 50 reds and whites tasted
This story is from BostonGlobe.com, the only place for complete digital access to the Globe.
Tasting notes (wines that received at least one vote are accompanied by a note) are from sommeliers Brahm Callahan, Jason Kilgore, Kate Moore, and Globe wine writer Ellen Bhang. The shop name with each wine is the retailer who nominated it. Most of the bottles have good distribution in our area. Check with your local wine shop, and if they don’t have the wine you are looking for, they can probably get it for you. Wines for this year’s tasting were purchased at Berman’s Wine and Spirits, Lexington (781-862-0515), D&L Liquors, Waltham (781-894-1907), Henry’s Wine Cellar, North Beverly (978-524-0300), Medfield Wine Shoppe, Medfield (508-359-4097), and Sudbury Wine & Spirits, Sudbury (978-443-1300).
