Bostonia Public House (131 State St. at Broad St.) opens this month, a rep for the restaurant tells me. It’s designed by HGTV personality Taniya Nayak, the designer behind Abby Lane and Petit Robert Central. It’ll have bars on two floors, an exposed kitchen, private dining rooms, and furniture in hues of “coffee and cognac.” Speaking of drinks: John Fitzgerald, a vet of many Boston-area pubs, handles the food and beverage program. I’m told that dishes will be “imaginative but locally inspired.” The menu remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: The location is exceptional. Bostonia is inside the landmark Board of Trade building, where popular pub Kitty O’Shea’s once stood.
Excellent news for Burlington: A rep confirms that the Webber Restaurant Group — the team behind Groton’s succulently rustic Gibbet Hill Grill — is on track to open The Bancroft steakhouse there this spring.
