Other than Lucy's grape stomping, we didn't know of any women in the wine business until we read about Linda Shumway. Last month, the Plymouth Winery owner and winemaker won three medals, one for her Bogart's Blend (chardonnay and chenin blanc); the others for her Blueberry and Blackberry wines made from 100 percent fruit. The winery produces eight grape wines and six fruit wines, and the popular warm-weather vinos are Mayflower White (grape wine) and Cranberry Blush (cranberries and white wine). The Tasting Room is open today from 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. and wines can also be ordered by phone and online. Bottles start at $8.99. Plymouth Winery, 170 Water St., Plymouth. 508-746-3532. plymouthwinery.com
