The event, ably emceed by comedian Lenny Clarke, was held at Addieville Farm in Mapleville, R.I., and featured some fine barbecue from Capital Grille and plenty of live music. When her man's down, Gisele jets up
Gisele Bundchen is putting her boyfriend ahead of business. After
Tom Brady suffered a season-ending knee injury Sunday, we're told that his supermodel sweetheart temporarily postponed a trip to Brazil and flew instead to Boston to be with No. 12. But she didn't stay long. Late yesterday, she was winging her way to São Paulo, where she's scheduled to shoot a Pantene commercial, meet with Colcci's design team, and do some environmental work. You don't become the world's richest supermodel by being
Florence Nightingale.
Matt and Mom
In a flashback to the 1998 Oscars,
Matt Damon once again made mom
Nancy Carlsson-Paige his date - this time, for the OneXOne gala and concert in Toronto on Monday. (Wife
Luciana was home taking care of new baby
Gia.) This was the third year Damon has headlined for OneXOne, which supports international children's charities. This year,
Wyclef Jean,
John Legend, and the African Children's Choir performed.
Gorman makes history
Party at
Lou Gorman's house! Omni Foods was recently approved to sell wine in the well-heeled western suburb of Weston, and today the former Sox GM will be the first person in more than a century to buy a bottle of booze in the town. Store owner
Suren Avedisian told us he picked Gorman - a Weston resident who patronizes the store almost daily - to give the historic event a little pizazz. Gorman's drink of choice? He'll purchase a bottle of Lindemans Chardonnay.
The show is on
It's been open for business for almost a month, but now it's official:

Shawn Roberts, and
Bojana Novakovic.
Corwin family grows
Now we know why "Animal Planet" host
Jeff Corwin was a no-show at last weekend's Plimoth Plantation fund-raiser. The Norwell native and his wife were celebrating the birth of their second child, a daughter named
Marina. . . . We just got word that author and illustrator
Peter Reynolds, who's working on a book inspired by the
Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway, got hitched to Russian jewelry designer
Diana Gaikazova. The ceremony, officiated by Dedham state Representative
Paul McMurtry, was held on the Quincy shore over the weekend. . . . Bruin
Marco Sturm celebrated his 30th birthday with a few dozen friends and teammates at
Lydia Shire's Scampo the other night.
A Ray of hope for a big birthday bash
All Byfield mom
Janice Ardolino wanted was a real birthday party, and
Rachael Ray will give it to her, on-air, today. Ardolino, who grew up the youngest of six girls, with a single mom, said she always dreamed of a big to-do, with lots of balloons, dancing, and guests. (Her family's m.o. was the sisters and a cake, she said.) So when she saw an ad soliciting 40th birthday stories on Ray's show (in honor of the cooking diva's own big 40 on Aug. 25), she wrote in about her "uneventful" 40th on July 10. "I thought somebody was going to throw me a 40th birthday party, but my birthday came and went," said Ardolino, who got a cake from her boyfriend and went fishing with her 8-year-old daughter, Jessica. Ray's people filmed her at home and at her favorite store, Byfield's Main Street Mini Mart, and then brought her down to New York City for a big surprise. "I had a blast," she said. All will be revealed on Ray's show, which airs at 10 a.m. today on WBZ.
