Set these out with an old-fashioned olive and celery plate. The pecans are tossed with maple syrup, butter, and chipotle powder or cayenne.
| Butter (for the pan) | |
| 1 | pound unsalted pecans |
| 3 | tablespoons melted butter |
| 4 | tablespoons maple syrup |
| 1 | tablespoon light brown sugar |
| 1 | teaspoon chopped fresh thyme |
| 3/4 | teaspoon kosher salt |
| 1/4 | teaspoon chipotle powder or cayenne |
2. In a bowl, toss the pecans with the melted butter, maple syrup, sugar, thyme, salt, and chipotle powder or cayenne.
3. Transfer the nuts to the baking sheet. Bake them, tossing often, for 12 to 15 minutes or until browned and fragrant. Cool on the baking sheet. Serve warm or at room temperature.![]()
