Across the street from the TD Banknorth Garden, Equal Exchange Cafe seems an unlikely addition to this part of town. That's exactly what will beckon you: the bright, sunny space, along with locally procured food. Fair trade coffees, teas, and chocolates are available with plenty of information about the products' origins. And while keeping the focus on the items that the West Bridgewater-based Equal Exchange is known for, the cafe also offers good nibbles. "We really wanted to support local businesses," says cafe developer Megan Hubbs. Fresh sandwiches from the Biscuit, pastry from Iggy's Bread of the World and Petsi Pies, and spring rolls from a Dorchester-based wholesale distributor are brought in daily. Whether it's imported from Guatemala or Somerville, at this cafe you'll know where your food comes from. Equal Exchange Cafe, 226 Causeway St., Boston, 617-372-8777.
