Chef Manrique Alvarenga wasn’t always welcome in the kitchen. When he was a boy in El Salvador, his mother didn’t want anyone around when she was cooking, so her son watched from the doorway. His mother finally invited him in, and the kitchen has been his home ever since. The chef invites you to his weekly Running of the Lobsters, a New England Lobster Bake Special of clam chowder, boiled lobster, corn on the cob, and coleslaw.
