There are some snacks we loved as children that are best left in the memory banks (did somebody mention pixie sticks?). Others, with some updating and tweaking, can come back and have a perfectly delicious, even useful life as adult snacks that are still fun to eat. Meet Teather, James Broderick’s take on the tart, fruit-flavored “leather’’ that filled so many lunch boxes and cupboards. New from a Brookline-based company, Teather is made of organic fruits, white tea, and lemon juice, with no preservatives or additives. The small strips come in three flavors - strawberry pomegranate, berry cherry açaí, and mango goji citrus - in portable foil pouches ($3.99). They’re so good your kids might like them, too. Available at Allandale Farm, 259 Allandale Road, Brookline, 617-524-1531; Cambridge Naturals, 23 White St., Cambridge, 617-492-4452; and the Copley Square farmers market on Tuesdays.
