Call it Applesauce 2.0 for a busy, car-snacking society. Pouches of smashed apples (and other fruits) are now the rage with the car-seat set, who would rather slurp than spoon. “Smashies,’’ a new line of healthy, organic fruit sauces in pouches (about $1 for 3.2 ounces), come in tasty Snappy Apple, Mango Smash, Straw Nana, and Apple Cinnamon. They are gluten-free and kosher, says the Boston-based company Luvli Foods, launched by Luvli Juices founder Karsten Robbins last fall. Each 50-calorie pouch contains at least one serving of organic whole fruit and 25 percent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C. When the kid section of your car starts looking messy, at least it will be a healthy mess. Available at Sudbury Farms, 1177 Highland Ave., Needham, 781-449-9180; Roche Bros., 24 Cambridge St., Burlington, 781-273-4381; many ![]()
