We love it when they cook for us, especially if they know what they’re doing in the kitchen. More than 30 celebrity chefs from television, politics, academia, and business will wield spatulas and spoons at Men of Boston Cook for Women’s Health, a benefit for programs at the Codman Square Health Center. Get ready for international dishes including pollo guizado, blackened tuna, peach cobbler, and other yummy treats. Suffolk County Sheriff Andrea J. Cabral will emcee - so behave. Sept. 24 from 6-9 p.m. $150. (Advance registration is recommended.) Tent at 637 Washington St., Dorchester. 617-262-3424. www.menofboston.com
