Can you describe red and white wines without seeing them? How about sweet and savory treats? Your taste buds do all the work at Taste of Perkins, where guests have the option of wearing blindfolds to identify some of the goodies (we can’t reveal what they are). Visit the Exploration Station Simulation to experience varying degrees of visual impairment, type in Braille, listen to a new digital talking book, enjoy jazz by Perkins students, and bid on silent auction items. Oct. 6 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. $50. Perkins School for the Blind, 175 North Beacon St., Watertown. 617-972-7583. www.perkins.org
