When looking at colleges, visit the dining halls and speak to the dining managers about how they handle food allergies and what special accommodations are available.

Take a tour of the kitchen to see where and how foods are prepared, what ingredients are used, and if precautions are in place to keep foods safe.

Ask to talk to students with food allergies so you can learn from their experiences.

Find out how emergencies are handled on campus.
