It makes sense to buy spices in bulk instead of bottles so you can see their textures and smell their aromas. It’s also cheaper to buy most spices by the ounce. Store your red and honey-hued seasonings in these little (2 1/2-inch diameter, 1 7/8 inches high), metal canisters (5 plus rack are $15), if you buy small amounts. The lids have shaker tops; the bottoms are magnetic and stack or stick to the rack. There are also 3-ounce glass bottles ($1.49 each with white lid, $1.99 chrome). Openings are large enough for measuring spoons and tight-fitting lids keep contents fresh.
