The following is a list by town of some pick-your-own strawberry farms. Many supply containers for an additional fee; at most places you can use your own. Call ahead to ask about conditions and whether berries are ripe. Children are welcome at these farms and should be supervised. Directions are from Boston. For more information go to


Cider Hill Farm, 45 Fern Ave., 978-388-5525, Take I-95N to exit 58B (Amesbury, Route 110W). Take a right on Elm Street. At the lights, follow signs. Daily 8 a.m.-6 p.m.


Indian Head Farm, 232 Pleasant St., 978-838-2942, Take I-90W to 495N. Take exit 25 (I-290 West) to exit 25 (Berlin). Go 1 mile toward Berlin Center; farm is on the right. Daily 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Picking hours may vary; call ahead.


Parlee’s Farm, 135 Pine Hill Road, 978-256-2859, From Chelmsford Center, take Route 110 toward Littleton/Westford; go 2 miles. Right at the lights, follow sign. Daily 7 a.m.-6 p.m.


Verrill Farm, 11 Wheeler Road, 978-369-4494, Take Route 2W; after you pass Route 126, take the first left. Go about 2 miles to Wheeler Road. Daily 9 a.m.-7 p.m.


Connors Farm Stand, 30 Valley Road (Route 35), 978-777-1245, www.connors Take Route 1N to Route 62E to Route 35N. Daily 9 a.m.-6 p.m.


C.N. Smith Farm, 325 South St., 508-378-2270, Take Route 24 to Route 106E. Turn onto South Street (near Old Colony YMCA). Tues-Sat 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun-Mon 9 a.m.-5 p.m.


Spring Rain Farm, 692 Caswell St., 508-824-3393, Take I-93S to Route 24S to exit 13A (follow sign for Route 44E and Cape Cod). Cross over Route 24, immediate right onto Orchard Street. Orchard becomes South Street. Go 1.8 miles, through zigzag intersection to Liberty Street. Left at stop sign onto Caswell. Bear left at fork; farm is .3 miles on right. Daily 10 a.m.-6 p.m.


Hanson’s Farm, 20 Nixon Road, 508-877-3058, From 128 (North or South) take exit 26 to Route 20W. Follow about 10 miles, pass Wayside Inn Road. At traffic light, turn left onto Hager Street. Farm is 2 miles on right. Mon-Sat 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.


Sunshine Farm, 41 Kendall Ave., Sherborn 508-655-5022, www.sunshinefarmma .com. Take I-90W to exit 13 (routes 9 and 135). Take Speen Street to the end. At Framingham-Sherborn-Natick town line, stay right onto Kendall Avenue. On left. Daily 9 a.m.-6 p.m.


Rogers Spring Hill Farm, 133 Neck Road 978-372-4780, Take I-495N to exit 48. Right at lights; second left onto Neck Road. Mon-Fri 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sat 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun 9 a.m.-5 p.m.


Marini Farm, 259 Linebrook Road, 978-356-0430, Take Route 1N to Ipswich, right onto Linebrook Road. Go 1.3 miles, farm on left. Daily 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

Russell Orchards, 143 Argilla Road, 978-356-5366, Take Route 128N to Route 1A north, to Route 133 toward Essex. Follow signs. Daily 9 a.m.-6 p.m.


Smolak Farms, 315 South Bradford St. 978-682-6332, I-95N to exit 53B (Route 97). Turn right from the off-ramp, left at Boxford Village, first right onto Ipswich Road (Boxford). Follow for 6 miles. South Bradford Street is on the right. Mon-Fri 7 a.m.-2 p.m.; Sat-Sun 7 a.m.-5 p.m.


Tougas Family Farm, 234 Ball St., 508-393-6406, Take I-90W to I-495N to exit 25B. Follow I-290W to exit 24 (Church Street), turn toward Boylston, and follow signs. Schedule varies first few weeks of picking season. Mon-Fri 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Sat-Sun 8 a.m.-4 p.m.


Foppema’s Farm, 1605 Hill St., 508-234-6711 or 508-234-7992, www.foppemas Take Route 146 south about 10 miles to Central Turnpike exit. Head east toward Northbridge for about 2 miles. Right at flashing light, farm is on right. Mon-Sat 9 a.m.-6 p.m.


Kimball Fruit Farm, 184 Hollis St., (Route 122 on Mass.-N.H. border), 978-433-9751, Take Route 3N to exit 5W. Route 111 west about 6 miles to blinking light. Right at light. Go 3 miles. Farm on left. Daily 9 a.m.-7 p.m.


Ward’s Berry Farm, 614 South Main St. 781-784-3600, Take I-95S to exit 8. Go a half mile east toward Sharon. Farm on right. Mon-Fri 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sat-Sun 9 a.m.-6 p.m.


Belkin Family Lookout Farm, 89 Pleasant St. (508-653-0653), Take I-90W to exit 16, (Route 16), bear right toward Wellesley (16W). After about 3 miles, bear left at the fork and continue on Route 16 to South Natick. At the lights (white church on right), left onto Pleasant Street . Go 3/4 of a mile. Red Farm Market on right. Sat-Sun 10 a.m.-5 p.m.


Parlee Farms, 95 Farwell Road, 978-649-3854, Take Route 3 North to exit 35 (Route 113 Tyngsborough). Left onto Route 113 and go 1 mile to the light. Left onto Middlesex Road, first right onto Farwell Road. Parlee Farms is 1 mile on the right. Tues-Sun 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.


Nourse Farm, 70 Nourse St., 508-366-2644, Take I-90W to Framingham, Route 9 exit. Left onto Lyman Street. Take Route 30 through Westborough Center; it turns into Nourse Street. Follow signs. Daily 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.


Ingaldsby Farm, 14 Washington St., 978-352-2813. Take I-95N to Route 97 to Georgetown. Take Route 133W to Washington Street. Daily 8 a.m.-6 p.m.


Land’s Sake, 90 Wellesley St., 781-609-2456, Take Route 128N to Route 20W. At first light, turn left onto School Street. Farm on left at intersection of Newton Street. Tues-Sun 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
