Dissatisfied with the artificial ingredients of standard boxed dessert mixes, Nora Schultz, a former Campbell Soup Co. worker, started releasing her own. The result is Naturally Nora all-natural brownie, cake, and frosting mixes ($3.99 to $4.59). You add the usual: milk, oil, eggs, butter. All 11 varieties are kosher, and all but one of the mixes — Doubly Fudgy brownies — are soy- and dairy-free. Sunny Yellow cake is moist, fluffy, and not overly sweet. Extraordinary Vanilla frosting is a complementary topping to the cake, ready to spread upon mixing and worthy of a spoonful on its own. The brownies are thick, gooey, and rich. All mixes can be made by hand or in an electric mixer. Available at Roche Bros. supermarkets; the Fresh Market, 11 Essington Drive, Hingham, 781-740-2066; or www.naturallynora.com.
