Another launch party for another small, Boston-area brewer: Blatant Brewery will celebrate its start next Thursday, Nov. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at British Beer Company in Framingham. Blatant Brewery, a so-called "gypsy brewer" whose beers are being made at Just Beer (the old Buzzards Bay Brewing) in Westport, is the creation of Matthew Steinberg, who has been making craft beers for 15 years. Steinberg brewed for Offshore Ale Co. on Martha's Vineyard and was the director of operations for Mayflower Brewing Co. until last year. Blatant's first two beers -- an IPA and a session ale -- will be on tap next Thursday, and Steinberg will be in the house, of course.

Also, this Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m., Meadhall in Cambridge's Kendall Square will host an event promoting beers made with Massachusetts-grown barley malt. The evening, which is intended to draw attention to Valley Malt, will feature beers from seven brewers: Cambridge Brewing Co., Ipswich, Mystic, Notch, Peak Organic, Watch City, and Wormtown. Tickets are $50, available here.
